Canton Public Schools is looking for a skilled Plumber/HVAC technician to join our maintenance team. 

Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker performs a wide range of duties in support of the overall preventative maintenance and repair of all school buildings and grounds.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Facilities Director, this position's primary responsibility is the repair and maintenance of the Heating, Air Conditioning, ventilation and plumbing systems. Must be familiar with and have experience using BMS system and pneumatic controls. Work is performed in compliance with construction industry standards and the state building code and is checked in progress or upon completion to ensure it complies with accepted standards and codes.  

The incumbent performs assigned tasks without close supervision, following established procedures, and is given direct and detailed instructions on new and different assignments. The incumbent will also be expected to work closely with the Electrician and other members on staff, having a general knowledge of the tools and materials involved in these trades. 

The work schedule requires some early morning, night, weekend, stand by and emergency work, including snow plowing/snow removal.  

A Plumber's license is desired.  EPA refrigerant recovery certification required.
