Job Summary:
4 Hours Per Day
The Assistant Manager works under the supervision on the Manager and will perform duties as assigned. The Assistant Manager is required to assume all responsibilities of the Manager when the Manager is absent.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Manager in supervising other food service personnel
- Is responsible for cooking menu items
- Works as a team member by assisting in food preparation, serving, kitchen clean-up and the cleaning of various kitchen equipment.
- Operates various pieces of kitchen equipment such as slicer, mixer, steamer and ovens.
- Assists the Manager in daily reconciliation of cash and checks with the daily preparation of bank deposits and other reports
- Assists the Manager in ordering, receiving and inventory of foods and supplies
- Use Mosaic Computerized Point of Sale System to process transactions and reconcile cash.
- Perform food preparation and other work associated with catering provided by the Food Service Department within the district at varying times during the school year.

Physical Qualifications:
- Able to work in standing position for prolonged periods
- Able to lift material weighing up to 45 pounds
- Exposed to heat while cooking and preparing foods
- Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other pieces of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and steamers
- Hazards may include, but are not limited to cuts from knives and slicers, burns
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in the school lunch program, quantity food preparation in a hospital, industrial, or other large-scale feeding operation is strongly recommended
- Experience with a computerized point of sales system
- Familiar with State and Federal requirements and regulations of the School Lunch Program
- Current Certificate in Serve Safe or ability to become certified within 90 days
- Allergen Awareness Certification
- Choke Training Certification
- Computer skills necessary include Google Suite, Microsoft Excel and Word
- Partake in any other Professional Development scheduled by the Director and required by the USDA under the Professional Standards Requirements
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Successful candidate will require CORI and SAFIS Fingerprinting Background check

Pay Rate- $21.90 per hour based upon experience
